The Merz Akademie is a state-recognized, non-profit university for applied art, design and media with approximately 250 students. The fields of Film and Video, New Media and Visual Communication are considered distinct but closely related areas of study.

One of the strategic goals of the Merz Akademie is to increase the proportion of women in management, teaching and research. Applications from women for the following position are therefore particularly welcome.

Rector  (f/m/d, W2, 100%) 

The Rector is responsible for the academic affairs of the university. For this important position, we are looking for a person with experience in leading functions in university operations and good knowledge of current issues in university development. You are aware of the many challenges that a non-state university has to face and develop strategies for the further development of the institution together with the management. You possess special communication and project planning skills as well as a high level of integration ability.

The appointment of the Rector is subject to the approval of the Senate. The term of office is 5 years. Further terms of office are possible. The remuneration is according to tarifgroup W2 plus a bonus related to the function. A completed university education and a leading professional experience in higher education are required. The position requires that your center of life is in Stuttgart. Good German language skills are required.
