Graduate Phoebe Ammon wins the Jury Screenplay Prize and the Audience Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Screenplay Prize.

“Der Tag gehört uns” is the name of Phoebe’s screenplay, which she entered into the race for the Screenplay Award. It won her the 2024 Jury Prize and the 2024 Audience Award, according to the laudatory speech by the jury, consisting of Inken Witt, Insa Wiese and Jens Paulsen:

It is the story of a daughter who, despite a traumatic start in life and a childhood full of hardship, manages to look bravely to the future, the story of a strong mother-daughter relationship that even death cannot harm. The screenplay makes skillful use of the possibilities offered by the medium of film, relies on strong images, trusts its characters, interweaves different time levels in an exciting way, skilfully avoids the dangers of kitsch and boldness and leaves us thoughtful, moved and hoping to see it realized on the big screen soon.

The 2024 Audience Award went equally to Phoebe Ammon and Laura Potzuweit from Kiel for her book “Sieben Senkrecht”. Both authors received the same number of votes from the public.

To ensure that there are many good screenplays and short films, the Filmkultur Schleswig-Holstein e.V. association has launched the Schleswig-Holstein Screenplay Award for Short Films. The competition with the final live reading by speakers in front of an audience offers screenwriters a stage for their as yet unfilmed stories and supports the winning screenplay in its realization.
