Graduate Konstanze Winter Wins the FICIMAD Insula Barataria Award for Best Experimental Film

Merz Akademie graduate Konstanze Winter won the award for Best Experimental Film at FICIMAD 2026 (Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid) for her film “it’s growing on me.” Congratulations!

On June 19, 2026, the sixth edition of the International Independent Film Festival took place in the Carlos Saura Auditorium at the School of Information Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Konstanze Winter moves between documentary film and speculative storytelling, exploring new forms of visual expression through film and contemporary media. According to the FICIMAD jury, her film “it’s growing on me.” reflects her distinctive approach to contemporary visual storytelling.

As part of FICIMAD 2026, Konstanze Winter took part in an interview at the Carlos Saura Auditorium of the School of Information Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid and presented her film.
