Students of the Merz Akademie present photographic works about interactions and potentials of contemporary young painting from the collection Studio Berkheim and Instagram in the neighboring gallery Zero Arts. The photographs were created in the course “Photography and Context” under the direction of lecturer Natalie Brehmer.
Studio Berkheim is a young gallery of contemporary art in Esslingen.
“After visiting the current exhibition, we used the different potentials as well as similarities of contemporary painting and photography for our discourse. Painting, in the broadest sense, was the inspiration for the students’ photographic work. The results only suggest what the spark of inspiration was. It is all the more exciting when this is seen more strongly in one or the other work,” explains lecturer Natalie Brehmer.
The vernissage will take place on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 7 pm.
