Virtual Stream
– an Internet Video Archive

„Virtual Stream“ is a conceptual video archive in virtual space. A collection of three categories of current online livestream trends: Mok Bang, ASMR and Reallifecam. The images projected in the room are archives of former livestreams. An extension would be a direct connection to the livestreams.

Mok Bang is an Internet trend originating in Korea, where people eat large portions of food in front of the webcam. The trend started on AfreecaTV in 2009 and has since become a worldwide known livestream trend where self-proclaimed „broadcast jockeys“ sit in front of the computer for an hour or more and stream.

ASMR (= Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) For many a „soothing“, „tickling“ and „prosperous“ sensation. Meanwhile such videos reach up to several million clicks on (Twitch and) YouTube. Mostly women are streaming, sometimes even children with their own ASMR-YouTube show.

The Livestream Reallifecam is the new Big Brother. On the website you have the possibility to watch strangers in their daily life. This ranges from kitchen cleaning to sex on the sofa. You can watch the kitchen and the living room for free. If you want to have a look into the more private rooms you have to get a premium account.
