One of the winners of the 2025/26 German Youth Photography Award is Nele David for her bachelor’s thesis, “Start with Bismilla—In the Name of God.” The 2025/26 German Youth Photography Award will be presented on September 19, 2026, at KIT – Kunst im Tunnel in Düsseldorf. Congratulations!

The 40 photographs on display and awarded prizes were selected by the jury of the German Youth Photography Prize from among the entries in the 2025/26 competition. 1,236 young people from all over Germany submitted a total of 8,304 works.

Since 1962, the German Youth Photography Award has recognized the best photographs taken by children, teenagers, and young adults under the age of 25. The jury for the German Youth Photography Award includes prominent figures from the fields of photography and education. They are all united by their interest in young people’s perspectives and their passion for photography. The jury is appointed by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth.
