HFM presents: Spaces for Animation – 1st Pop-Up Event on July 2, 2021

The Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart (HFM) cordially invites you to an online panel discussion on animation, education and new forms of presentation of media and film art. Guests will be Shoko Hara (Stuttgart, animation artist) and Ulrich Wegenast (board member HFM and artistic director of the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH) as well as our DAAD guest professor Weijia Ma (Shanghai, animation artist).
The discussion will be moderated by Jens Gutfleisch (board member HFM and head of Film Commission Region Stuttgart, Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart). The panel discussion will be conducted in English.

The association Haus für Film und Medien Stuttgart e.V. – an association of 24 non-commercial institutions and universities, including the Merz Akademie – has been working for years in a joint initiative with the city of Stuttgart to build a central cultural institution in which all formats of the moving image, from film and animation to games and virtual reality, will find a home.

Until the opening of the building in 2027 on the site of the Breuninger parking garage in Stuttgart-Mitte, the association wants to provide insights into the expected program with pop-up events. Further events are planned and will follow in the coming months.
