Art Schools in Time of War – Vasyl Cherepanyn und Lada Nakonechna (Ukraine)

Lada Nakonechna is an artist and researcher. She was involved in a number of group projects and collectives in Ukraine such as R.E.P. group, curatorial union Hudrada, Prostory.net.ua. Lada cofounded The Method Fund and is co-curator of its educational and research programs CreatingRuin.net, Course of Art. Within the Course she investigates through experience various ways of studying and practicing art. In 2022 she was a guest lecturer at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HfbK) and from 2023 joined the documenta Institute as a research fellow.

Vasyl Cherepanyn holds a PhD in philosophy and has lectured at several universities, both in Kyiv and other cities in Europe, and is a curator, writer and editor.
Vasyl Cherepanyn is Head of the Visual Culture Research Center (VCRC), an institution he co-founded in Kyiv in 2008 as a platform for collaboration among academic, artistic, and activist communities. VCRC is the organizer of the Kyiv Biennial and a founding member of the East Europe Biennial Alliance.
